Why waterfalls

There is just something magical about waterfalls. Most of the popular ones in the UK are within walking distance and some you can see from the road. For me the buzz is the hike to find one that isn't all over social media.

I shoot in manual mode and select an ND filter based on the brightness of the scene and the shutter speed I'm after. I then fine-tune my exposure until the histogram is balanced, which gives me a clean, well-exposed baseline. From there, I make creative decisions with shutter speed, using longer exposures to blur the motion of the water into that smooth, silky look.
